Case Study

The challenge

A large HR Services business had grown through acquisition over many years. Over time, investment was made to consolidate the business into a single operating model with a unified CRM platform and finance system. The business had also already made extensive investment in a data warehouse within Google BigQuery. However, the underlying data strategy was outdated and the business lacked access to meaningful data insights across the front office, mid office and back office process steps.

The solution

Having fully scoped the current model, a six month data optimisation project was designed and planned. The flagship of the programme was a single unified reporting platform built in Tableau. This offered a wealth of different dashboard views, targeted at managers and directors to be able to drive and steer their business decisions. This was accompanied by a separate suite of client-facing self-service dashboard templates built in Domo.

Alongside this flagship solution, we also piloted pushing data insights in real-time through Google Chat - enabling frontline teams to gain recommendations on activities they could complete that would maximise their likelihood of success. The continued investment in data quality and foundations was critical as an underpinning dimiension to the optimisation project.

The outcome

The 6 month project was completed on time and within budget. The suite of dashboards in Tableau were each celebrated as a genuine step change for the business, with insights across operations and finance stakeholders offering unparalleled visibility and control of business decisions. The push notifications of data delivered multiple tangible supply opportunities and the client MI received great feedback from new and existing clients alike.
